- 1 1/2 cups sugar

- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil

- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- Red food coloring (optional)
- 1 cup butter (for frosting)
- 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2 tbsp milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water. The batter will be thin. Pour into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in pans, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Beat until smooth.
- Once cakes are cool, frost with a layer between them and on top. Decorate with Valentine’s Day themes.

- Use heart-shaped cake pans for a festive touch.
- Add red food coloring to the batter for a pink or red cake.
- Decorate with edible glitter, sprinkles, or fresh berries.
