- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Red food coloring (optional)
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts from the bread slices.
- In a bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Add a few drops of red food coloring if desired.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Dip each bread heart into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- Place the coated bread hearts in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve warm with syrup or powdered sugar.
