- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (optional for chocolate flavor)
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Fresh strawberries for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder (if using).
- Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting with whipped cream.
- Decorate with fresh strawberries and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
