- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 lbs potatoes
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 lb green beans
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup cranberry sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Mix breadcrumbs, celery, onions, melted butter, salt, pepper, sage, and thyme for stuffing.
- Stuff turkey with mixture and place in roasting pan.
- Pour chicken broth over turkey and cover with foil.
- Roast for 4 hours, basting every hour.
- Peel and boil potatoes until tender.
- Mash potatoes with milk and butter.
- Steam green beans and top with almonds.
- Serve turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce.
Notes
- Allow turkey to rest 20 minutes before carving.
- Use fresh herbs for better flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
