Ingredients

- 1/2 cup fruit jam or icing for filling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheets.
- Press your thumb into the center of each ball to make an indentation.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool, then fill with jam or icing.

- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- Use different jams for colorful variations.
- Dough can be refrigerated for 30 minutes if too soft to handle.
