Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries under cold water and discard any soft or bruised ones.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-12 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in orange zest if using.
  6. Let cool to room temperature before serving.
