- 3 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer half the sliced potatoes in the dish.
- Mix melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheese, onion, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread half the mixture over the potatoes.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes and mixture.
- Cover and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove cover and bake 15 more minutes until golden.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of mushroom soup for a vegetarian version.
- Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
