- 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 4 oz smoked salmon
- 1 tsp wasabi (optional)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (for serving)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Let it cool slightly.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl. Fold into the cooked rice.
- Cut nori sheets into heart shapes using a template or freehand.
- Place a small amount of rice on half of the nori heart. Layer with cucumber, avocado, and salmon.
- Fold the nori over the filling to form a heart shape. Press gently to seal.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients. Slice each heart into bite-sized pieces if desired.
- Serve with wasabi and soy sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
