Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth. Add food coloring if desired.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before decorating with frosting and sprinkles.
