- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Pink or red food coloring (optional)
- 1 cup frosting of your choice
- Sprinkles or edible decorations (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth. Add food coloring if desired.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before decorating with frosting and sprinkles.
Notes
- Use a heart-shaped pan for best results.
- If you don’t have a heart-shaped pan, bake a round cake and cut it into a heart shape.
- Store the cake in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
