- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir until just combined.
- Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying.
- Serve warm for the best texture.
- Adjust oil temperature as needed to prevent burning.
