Description

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1 lb sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan and brown pork chunks on all sides.
  2. Transfer pork to the crockpot.
  3. Add sauerkraut, onion, garlic, caraway seeds, black pepper, and bay leaf to the crockpot.
  4. Pour chicken broth over the ingredients.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Remove bay leaf before serving.

Notes

  • Rinse sauerkraut if you prefer a milder taste.
  • Add sliced apples for extra sweetness.
