- 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into chunks
- 1 lb sauerkraut, drained
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan and brown pork chunks on all sides.
- Transfer pork to the crockpot.
- Add sauerkraut, onion, garlic, caraway seeds, black pepper, and bay leaf to the crockpot.
- Pour chicken broth over the ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Remove bay leaf before serving.
Notes
- Rinse sauerkraut if you prefer a milder taste.
- Add sliced apples for extra sweetness.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
