- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
- Stir in oats, chocolate chips, and nuts.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them.
- Substitute nuts with raisins or coconut if preferred.
