Instructions

  1. Rinse the black-eyed peas under cold water.
  2. Place them in a large bowl and cover with 4 cups of water. Soak overnight.
  3. Drain and rinse the peas the next day.

  5. Add the soaked peas, salt, pepper, paprika, and bay leaf.
