Description

A delicious make-ahead breakfast casserole with bananas, bread, and custard.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups cubed French bread
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer bread cubes and banana slices in the dish.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and bananas.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar on top.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until golden.
