Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Edible gold or silver sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before decorating with sprinkles.
Notes
- Use a round cake pan for a traditional shape.
- For a richer taste, replace milk with buttermilk.
- Store leftover cake in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
