Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Food coloring (gold and silver)
- Edible glitter
- Fondant for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Divide batter into two parts. Add gold coloring to one and silver to the other.
- Pour into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
- Stack layers with frosting in between.
- Cover with fondant and decorate with edible glitter and 2023 toppers.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant shades.
- Chill cake before decorating for cleaner cuts.
- Store in an airtight container if not serving immediately.
