Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Mix butter, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture under and over the turkey skin.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with lemon, onion, and garlic.
- Place turkey on a roasting rack in a pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Rest for 20 minutes before carving.
