Description

A gourmet dish featuring perfectly seared duck breast paired with a rich cherry sauce, easy to make at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 duck
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Score the duck skin and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and sear the duck skin-side down for 6 minutes.
  3. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes, then rest.
  4. In the same pan, sauté shallots until soft.
  5. Add cherries, red wine, and honey, simmer until thickened.
  6. Stir in butter and serve over sliced duck.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife to score the duck skin.
  • Let the duck rest before slicing for juicier meat.
  • Adjust sweetness with more or less honey.
