Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni in boiling water for 5 minutes.
  2. Add broccoli florets and cook for another 3 minutes.
  3. Drain and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  5. Stir in flour to make a roux.
  6. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
  7. Add cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  8. Stir until cheese melts and sauce thickens.
  9. Return macaroni and broccoli to the pot.
  10. Mix well and serve hot.
