A simple and flavorful crockpot English roast recipe that cooks slowly for tender, juicy meat.
Ingredients

- 3–4 lb English roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 3 potatoes, cubed
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sear the roast on all sides.
- Place onions, carrots, and potatoes in the crockpot.
- Put the seared roast on top of the vegetables.
- Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- Remove roast, slice, and serve with vegetables and broth.
Notes
- You can add other root vegetables like parsnips or turnips.
- For thicker gravy, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir into the broth after cooking.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
