- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup chopped herbs (parsley, rosemary, or thyme)
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix flour, salt, melted butter, and egg in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and knead into a smooth dough.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into small balls (about 24). Mix cheese, herbs, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Coat each dough ball in the cheese-herb mixture. Arrange them in a Christmas tree shape on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
