Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
- Fold in crushed candy canes, sprinkles, and walnuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
