- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp thyme, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 large onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Mix butter, rosemary, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture under and over the turkey skin.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with onion, carrots, and celery.
- Place turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
- Roast for 3-4 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Baste turkey every 30 minutes with pan juices.
- Let rest for 20 minutes before carving.

- Cover turkey with foil if it browns too quickly.
