Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp thyme, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Mix butter, rosemary, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture under the turkey skin and all over the outside.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with lemon slices and onion quarters.
- Place turkey on a roasting rack in a pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Let rest for 20 minutes before carving.

- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days.
