Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
  6. Divide batter into two bowls. Add red food coloring to one and green to the other.
  7. Spoon batter into liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  9. For frosting, beat powdered sugar, butter, and milk until smooth. Frost cooled cupcakes.
  10. Decorate with sprinkles or edible decorations.
