Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Fold in the dried fruits and nuts.
- Divide the batter into two portions. Add red food coloring to one portion and green to the other.
- Pour the batters into the prepared pan, alternating colors to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before icing.
- Mix powdered sugar and water to create a thin icing. Drizzle over the cake for decoration.
