- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt together. Gradually stir into the butter mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Spread batter evenly in the pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
