Description
Caramelitas are delicious gooey bars with a perfect balance of oats, caramel, and chocolate. They make a great dessert or snack.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
- Press half the mixture into the pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked crust. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly on top.
- Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the caramel.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting.
Notes
- Use thick caramel sauce for best results.
- Let bars cool fully to set properly.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
