- 1 beef heart (about 2 lbs)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Clean the beef heart by removing any membranes and fat. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic, cook until soft.
- Add beef heart cubes to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin.
- Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned.
- Pour in beef broth and lemon juice. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Remove the lid and cook for another 15 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve hot with your favorite side dish.
Notes
- Beef heart is lean and tender when cooked properly.
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef heart in lemon juice and spices for 1 hour before cooking.
