Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place pork chunks in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, rice vinegar, red pepper flakes, and chicken broth.
  3. Pour the sauce over the pork.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. If desired, mix cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and stir into the sauce to thicken.
  6. Serve garnished with green onions.
