Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before frosting.
Notes
- For a richer taste, use buttermilk instead of regular milk.
- If you don’t have a heart-shaped pan, bake in a round pan and cut into a heart shape after cooling.
- Decorate with fresh berries or edible flowers for extra flair.
