Ingredients

- 400g granulated sugar
- 300g unsalted butter
- 8 large eggs
- 500ml whole milk
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Red food coloring (as needed)
- 500g buttercream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
- Grease and line 20 heart-shaped cake pans
- Mix dry ingredients in one bowl
- Cream butter and sugar in another bowl
- Add eggs one at a time to butter mixture
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk
- Divide batter and color portions as desired
- Bake layers for 12-15 minutes each
- Let layers cool completely
- Stack layers with frosting between each
- Coat entire cake with final layer of frosting
- Decorate as desired
